Rupert Discusses Decision To Pick Mizzou has been reporting about the Missouri Tigers latest verbal commitment for the last couple of weeks and has his thoughts on why he decided to switch his commitment late in the recruiting game to the Tigers.

The Missouri Tigers have picked up a verbal commitment from 2013 safety prospect Shaun Rupert 6’1” 190 Montgomery (AL) Carver.

On Saturday, Rupert informed that he “just committed (to Mizzou)”.

Rupert chose Missouri over offers from Arkansas State, Northern Illinois, and Southern Mississippi, among others.

Later, Rupert talked about his decision.

“I feel real comfortable with my decision,” explained Rupert. “When I got there, it was a real family environment. Great players! Great coaches! It’s just a real warm place to be.”

Rupert’s mother had accompanied him on his official visit.

“She loves it,” said Rupert.

Rupert spent time on his visit with Torey Boozer and Donavin Newsom, and he said that he really enjoyed the Missouri-Auburn basketball game.

Rupert met with Coach Pinkel on Saturday, and he told Coach Pinkel that he wants to be a Missouri Tiger.

Rupert intimated that Coach Pinkel told him, “Welcome to the family!”

Rupert will sign with Missouri on Wednesday. He said that he “really likes Missouri”.

“We’re going to have a good young team this year,” said Rupert.
