Cornerback Offer Looking Into Missouri talks with another recent Missouri Tigers target to pick up an offer to play for the SEC school from down in the heart of SEC country. The speedy cornerback lays out his recruitment and plans to us.

The Missouri Tigers have extended a scholarship offer to 2014 corner prospect Jared Tucker  6’0”  178  Stone Mountain (GA) Stephenson.    Recently, Tucker spoke with, and he talked about his Missouri offer and his recruitment.

“My coach texted me and told me that Missouri had offered,”   said Tucker, who indicated that he is looking forward to getting to know more about Missouri.    “I’m overwhelmed!   At first, I didn’t know much about Missouri.   But, I’m starting to look into Missouri.    It’s far away from home, but that’s fine with me.”

Tucker currently holds offers from Connecticut, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt, in addition to Missouri.

Tucker is also an outstanding track athlete.   He has personal bests as a sophomore of 10.9 seconds in the 100 meters, and 22’1.5” in the long jump.   He also reported a 31” standing vertical.

Tucker said that his best asset in playing the corner is his ability to “flip my hips and run”.

I asked Tucker about his criteria for choosing a school?

“First academic-wise, I want to see the graduation rate for the student-athletes at the school,”   explained Tucker.    “Also playing time on the field; I kind of want to play early.   So, I want to look into that.   And location; I don’t mind going far, but not too far.”

Tucker said that Missouri was not too far.

Tucker said that he might visit Missouri this summer.    He indicated that an early commitment is possible.
