For Missouri, the 2014 recruiting cycle is well underway. The Tigers are recruiting 2014 OL Dalton Risner 6’4” 285 Wiggins (CO), who expects to receive a Missouri scholarship offer this week. Risner spoke to ShowMeMizzou.com, and he talked about his interest in Missouri, and he explained the expected scholarship offer.
Risner is planning to take an unofficial visit to Missouri on March 4th. He’s planning to attend Kansas State’s Junior Day on March 2nd, and he said that he’ll drive on over to Missouri afterward.
Risner said that he expects to receive a Missouri offer on his unofficial visit.
“(Missouri Assistant) Coach Andy Hill told me that they have a scholarship offer waiting for me when I get there,” said Risner. “They want to offer me, but they want to see me first.”
Risner is already counting that Missouri offer. He currently holds offers from Colorado State, New Mexico State, Northern Colorado, and Wyoming, in addition to Missouri. He’s also hearing from Washington, Boise State, Colorado, and Kansas State, and he expects to soon receive offers from those schools, as well.
“Missouri is the offer that I’m pumped up about,” said Risner, who was born in Missouri and lived in Missouri as a young child. “Missouri has definitely always been one of my dream schools. It’s my favorite offer. I’m excited to get out there and visit Mizzou, and see the campus, and the facilities, and meet the staff. I’m definitely pumped up about that (Missouri) offer!”
Risner is a pre-qualifier from a small school in Colorado, who was named First-Team All-State as a junior. He’s a multi-sport athlete who plays both ways in football, and who also plays basketball, and throws for his school’s track team. His personal best in the forty is 5.4, and he has a 22” vertical, to go along with personal bests of 305 pounds in the bench press, 465 pounds in the squat, and a maximum in the power clean of 245 pounds. He also reported a personal best with 12 reps at 225 pounds in the bench press.
