Missouri In The Mix For 2014 Weekend Visitor

The Missouri Tigers hosted a couple of 2014 basketball visitors over the weekend, and ShowMeMizzou.com brings you the inside scoop on the second prospect who is considering Mizzou as a possible destination.

On Saturday, Missouri hosted a pair of unofficial visitors from Memphis, including 2014 PF Marcanvis Hymon 6'7" 198 Memphis (TN) Whitehaven. After he returned home, Hymon spoke with ShowMeMizzou.com, and he talked about his second unofficial visit to Missouri, and he updated us on his recruitment.

“The Missouri visit was good,” said Hymon, who tripped to Missouri with Chris Chiozza and Chiozza’s father. “It went pretty good. We had a great time. It was my second visit to Missouri. We went there last summer with some guys from my AAU team.”

“I got to see a lot more this time than when I was there the first time,” explained Hymon. “I got to see the Rec Center, the dorms, and the education center.”

Hymon said that he is well-acquainted with current Missouri senior Laurence Bowers. He said that he’s about the same height as Bowers, and he compared himself to Bowers as a player, as well.

Hyman listed offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Memphis, Miami, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, UMass, and VCU, in addition to Missouri. He said that he’s also being recruited by Florida.

“I haven’t really narrowed things down,” said Hyman. “But, Missouri will be in my final mix.”

Earlier this week, Team Thad Coach Norton Hurd had indicated to ShowMeMizzou.com that Missouri is currently in Hymon’s top three.

Hyman is close friends with Chiozza and Team Thad teammate and Missouri offer Leron Black. He said that he and Black push each other in practice to get better.

“(Leron Black) is like another brother from a different mother,” said Hymon, followed by a little laugh. “We work hard. We’re working on a complete game. We compete against each other to make each other better.”

Hymon said that he, Chiozza, and Black have talked about all attending the same school.

I asked him if he will be re-visiting Missouri?

“It should be soon that we’ll get back down there,” said Hymon.

Hymon said that he expects to make a final decision and sign in the fall.
