Illinois Lineman Visiting Missouri

Rising three star offensive lineman from the state of Illinois talks to about his interest level in the Missouri Tigers football program, and his recruitment, which includes an upcoming visit.

The Missouri Tigers are recruiting 2014 OT prospect Chase Gianacakos 6’6” 286 St. Charles (IL) North. Recently, Gianacakos spoke with, and he talked about his interest in Missouri and his recruitment.

“Missouri is recruiting me hard,” said Gianacakos, who expects to receive a Missouri offer in the near future.

Gianacakos reports offers from Kansas, Toledo, and Bowling Green.

He said that a number of schools are recruiting him “heavily”, including Illinois, Missouri, Indiana, Michigan State, Minnesota, Iowa State, Nebraska, Boston College, and Maryland, among others.

Missouri Offensive Coordinator and Co-Offensive Line Coach Josh Henson is Gianacakos’ primary recruiter.

“I really like Coach Henson,” said Gianacakos, talking about Coach Henson and Missouri. “He seems like a really good guy. He’s a really straight forward kind of guy. He’s real. As for Missouri, I know it’s a really good school, and good football. I’m looking forward to getting down there and learning more about it.”

Gianacakos is a double Illinois legacy who reports a 5.2 forty, 27” vertical, and a maximum in the bench press of 315 pounds. He’s played basketball until this year, and he has only played football for three years. His quick feet are one of his biggest assets as an OT prospect.

“Missouri is definitely very interested,” continued Gianacakos. “Coach Henson wants me to come down and see the coaches and also see the campus. I hope they offer me.”

“I want to study business management,” explained Gianacakos. “I’m definitely interested in any school that has great academics and a great business program.”

Gianacakos said that he’s planning to take an unofficial visit to Missouri this Friday March 15th.
