Oklahoma Linebacker Talks Mizzou Offer

The Missouri Tigers have offered a linebacker from a familiar area in Oklahoma who they would like to add to their class of 2014. ShowMeMizzou.com talks with him about his recruitment and Mizzou.

ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with 2014 LB Gyasi Akem 6'1" 215 Broken Arrow (OK), who currently holds a Missouri offer. Akem talked about Missouri, and his recruitment.

“(Missouri’s) a pretty good program,” said Akem, who’s being recruited by Missouri Assistant Josh Henson.

Akem has offers from Arkansas State, Baylor, Clemson, Houston, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, Tennessee, and Washington State, among others, in addition to Missouri.

Akem said that he sees himself as more of an outside linebacker than an inside linebacker, but he could play either inside or outside. He reports a personal best of 4.69 seconds in the forty-yard dash.

Akem said that he does not have current plans to visit Missouri. He indicated that he’s still pretty wide open.

“I don’t have a list of favorites,” said Akem, who said that Missouri is a school that he is considering. “(Missouri) has pretty much solidified themselves as a pretty good football program for a few years. And, they’re in the SEC now, which has been the dominating conference for the past few years.”

Akem is taking his time with his recruitment, and is not in a hurry to make a decision.
