ShowMeMizzou.com has learned that the Missouri Tigers have picked up their fifth verbal commitment for the football recruiting class of 2014.
Pensacola (FL) West high school DE Rocel McWilliams 6'3" 240 4.7 forty spoke with me about his decision to commit to the Tigers.
"They offered me back in February, and I really like how they stood by me and kept recruiting me after I broke my scapula early last season. Coach Henson told me to stay with it and get healthy and get in the weight room and supported me. So, I committed on Tuesday and Coach Henson was very happy that I did. He said the defense was going to be very good and he was happy to have be going to be part of their defensive line," said McWilliams.
Missouri signed his teammate Nate Crawford as part of their 2013 recruiting class. That along with some other things helped convince him the Tigers were the team for him.
"Mizzou is a good program. They have great coaches and they stand by their players. I also want to play for and against the best, and being in SEC means that I will be. Plus, Nate and I are best of friends. He has stayed in my ear this whole time and I look forward to being able to continue to play with him, "he said.
McWilliams was West's leading tackler and sack leader before being injured. Missouri reportedly likes him because he is explosive off the ball and rushing the passer but has good run stopping skills as well.
He had early offers from Memphis and Old Dominion and was being recruited by Tennessee
In his film McWilliams has a great motor and really gets after the ball going until the whistle stops.
Rocel ( pronounced Rock-El) will be the thrid West player on the Tigers in two years as Nate Crawford and PK Luke Jackson will be walking on the team in 2013.
