Playmaker Picks Missouri

The Missouri Tigers identified and offered a big time offensive playmaker with Mizzou ties who after taking a couple of recent visits to Columbia decided that he wanted to play in the SEC for the Black & Gold.

The Missouri Tigers have received a verbal commitment from 2014 WR prospect Thomas Richard 6’1” 185 Nashville (TN) Christ Presbyterian Academy. Richard visited Missouri last weekend for the second time this month, and he told that his second visit, for Missouri’s Spring Game, convinced him that Missouri was where he wanted to play his college football.

“I committed to Missouri,” said Richard.

Richard said that he sees himself as an outside receiver in the Missouri offense, and following his most recent Missouri visit, he had said, “I love the way they played! They threw the ball a lot.”

Richard had wanted to wait a while before he committed to Missouri, to make sure that he wasn’t rushing into an emotional decision. On Sunday, after he spoke with his high school coach, Ingle Martin, Richard called Missouri Assistant Coach Pat Washington to tell him the news of his commitment to Missouri.

“I called Coach Martin, and he gave me the green light to call Coach Washington,” explained Richard. “So, I called Coach Washington, and he told he is really excited and happy that I am committing. He wanted me to call Coach Pinkel.”

“So, I called Coach Pinkel,” continued Richard. “He got excited, and he said that he can’t wait to have me be a (Missouri) Tiger!”

Richard said that he will now begin to help Missouri recruit other prospects for this class.

Richard said that his mom, who is a Missouri alumnus, “was jumping up and down, screaming”, when she learned that he had committed to Missouri.
