Afterwards, Mott took time to speak with ShowMeMizzou.com, and he talked about his visit to Missouri, his Missouri offer, and his recruitment.
“Missouri offered me on Saturday,” said Mott. “We had done a tour of the campus and stuff, and then once we got back to the football building, Coach Pinkel brought us into his office. He brought my mom and I into his office. And, he offered me (a scholarship).”
In addition to his Missouri offer, Mott, who is an excellent student, also reports offers from Tennessee-Martin and Harvard.
“I’ve been talking to Coach Henson for a few weeks,” explained Mott, who pointed out that Missouri is his first BCS and SEC offer. “I like Missouri. I like the campus. It was nice. They have nice football facilities. The coaching staff is good.”
Mott also throws the discus for his school’s track team. He reports a 5.26 forty.
Mott would like to make a school choice prior to the beginning of his senior year. But for now, he wants to take his time.
“I want to keep all of my options open for now,” explained Mott. “I’m really just looking for the right fit for me.”
“Missouri is definitely a good fit,” continued Mott. “But I guess I won’t really know how good of a fit until I visit other schools for comparison.”
Mott said that he may make it back to Missouri for another visit, but he’s not sure when that will occur.
