Parkway (MO) Central DE/TE prospect Jonathan Bonner 6'4" 245 is one of the most heavily recruited prospects in the state of Missouri with 9 offers already, and more looking like they will be on the way soon. He updated us recently about his recruitment, including a couple of new offers and list of schools who may be knocking on the door with an offer soon.
"Army offered me last week and Navy came by school and just offered me," said Bonner on Tuesday. "Syracuse came today, the coach wants me to call but I haven't been able to get in touch yet…………Iowa came on Monday and they are interested and want to see me at camp..…….Kansas State came by and said he enjoyed watching workouts and an offer could be waiting for me at camp. "
He attended the Missouri spring game, and talked about that experience and what he is hearing from the Tigers.
"It went well. I really like the facilities and all of the SEC upgrades they are making to the stadium. I talked to coach Ford and he seemed very interested. He's really pushing for me to attend the Mizzou padded training camp this summer so that I can work with the D-Line coach, Kul. That is where they would most likely make an offer. I will probably try to attend. I like the fact that they are in the SEC and it is close to home," Bonner said.
Bonner also listed schools he has been talking to and who have started heavily recruiting him.
Jonathan broke down those schools he felt may be close to offering him.
Nebraska:" The coach that came saw my video and really liked it and said he was going to run it by the coaches then get back in contact with me."
Tennessee: "Coach that came said he was interested and he was in a rush so he said he would call and that the DL coach would be stopping by later this month."
Boston College: "They said they would like to have me on the team. They may have offered but I forgot to write it down and now I'm not 100% sure."
Northwestern: "Said they had high interest and that my video was great as well as my academics. Mentioned both were good enough to attend the school... All schools would like me to make a trip to meet the coaches."
Bonner added that most schools are going for DE.
An outstanding student with a 3.8 GPA, Bonner recently took an unofficial visit to Indiana (who has offered) and was among the top performers at the Chicago Nike Football Training Camp.
The All-State performer recorded 64 tackles and 12 sacks on defense. He also averaged 21.7 yards per reception and 7 TDs on 12 catches for 258 yards.
