Missouri Offer Is "Pretty High Up There"

At about the same time that Missouri was busily signing their 2013 class, the Tigers were already working on their next class, having extended a scholarship offer to a Georgia speedster who discusses his offer from the Tigers.

In major college football, recruiting is a year round pursuit. At about the same time that Missouri was busily signing their 2013 class, the Tigers were already working on their next class, having extended a scholarship offer to 2014 WR prospect Stanton Truitt 5’10” 185 Monroe (GA).

Recently, Truitt took a few minutes to speak with ShowMeMizzou.com, and he talked about his Missouri offer, and his interest in the Tigers, and he updated us on the current status of his recruitment.

“Missouri offered me about three months ago,” explained Truitt, who said that he is in regular contact with Missouri Assistant Coach Alex Grinch. “I like Missouri. I’ve been talking to Coach Grinch a lot about everything, and I want to get up there just to see everything.”

Truitt had more to say about Missouri.

“(I like) the way that the coaches bond with the players,” said Truitt. “Coach Grinch sends me things about how the players chill with the coaches, and how much it’s just family oriented. So, I really like that!”

Truitt also holds offers from Arizona State, Arkansas, Boston College, California, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Marshall, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Carolina State, South Carolina, South Florida, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, and Wisconsin, among others, in addition to Missouri.

Truiit said that he currently has Tennessee as his favorite. He’s been to visit Tennessee “two or three times”. He’s also visited Arizona State, Auburn, Florida, and South Carolina.

“My number one school is Tennessee,” said Truitt. “But, Missouri is up there pretty high. I have almost 30 offers. But, Missouri is up there. They’re not too far down. I just want to go visit Missouri to see.”

Truitt said that some schools are recruiting him to play offense and some are recruiting him to play defense.

“Everybody’s recruiting me as an athlete,” explained Truitt, who said that Missouri is recruiting him to play slot receiver.

Truitt has been timed at 4.34 seconds in the forty-yard dash. Truitt reported a maximum of 315 pounds in the bench press, and he’s done 16 reps at 225 pounds.

Truitt is planning to visit some schools this summer, and narrow things down.

“If not (June), I’ll visit Missouri in July,” explained Truitt. “I want to check out some others schools. Because, I’ve been to Tennessee three times. I want to see some other places and get a feel for them. So, I have to get out and see some other places.”

Truitt identified a decision timeline for later this summer.

“I hope to have everything done before the season,” said Truitt.
