Rising Texas Receiver Picks Up Mizzou Offer

The Missouri Tigers went into familiar territory looking for help on offense at wide receiver and extended an offer to a rising speedster from the state of Texas.

Last week, Missouri Defensive Coordinator, Dave Steckel, made a stop at a familiar location in the Dallas Metro, Desoto High school, where Claude Mathis regularly turns out high-level talent, and where Missouri All-American return man Marcus Murphy played his high school football. While he was there, Coach Steckel informed Coach Mathis that Missouri has extended a scholarship offer to 2014 WR prospect Chris Lacy 6’3” 195 DeSoto (TX). Afterwards, Lacy spoke with ShowMeMizzou.com, and he talked about the Missouri offer, and he updated us on his recruitment.

“Missouri offered me last week,” said Lacy. “I’m going to look into Missouri, and do my research on the school.”

Lacy currently holds offers from Arizona State, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, North Texas, and Northwestern. He’s also receiving interest from quite a number of other schools, and the offers have been rolling in of late.

He’s planning to take unofficial visits this summer to Iowa and Clemson, from whom he is hoping to receive an offer. He said that he’s not sure about a Missouri visit, but he does know that he wants to learn more about Missouri.

Lacy reported a personal best in the forty-yard dash of 4.41 seconds. As a junior, he had 29 receptions for 339 yards and 3 TDs.
