Bello was at home in North Carolina when he spoke with ShowMeMizzou.com, and he talked about his decision to come to Missouri.
“I like their style of play,” explained Bello. “They get up and down the floor. We played them three times my freshman year, so I really got to see how they play, and when we played them in Columbia, it was a packed house. The Missouri fans were great!”
Bello, whose given name is Quddus Tosin Bello, and who is originally from Greensboro, North Carolina, will have two years of eligibility remaining beginning with the 2014-2015 season. He will be required to sit out this year, per NCAA requirements. Bello fits nicely into one of the spots vacated by the recently transferred sophomores-to-be, Dominique Bull and Negus Webster-Chan.
Bello has a well-earned reputation as a quality perimeter defender on the basketball court. He can defend point guards and other wing players. He left Baylor in search of more playing time.
“Yeah, playing time was the main issue,” said Bello.
His prior relationship with Coach Tim Fuller was a factor in his decision. He’ll likely enroll at Missouri for the first summer session in June.
He’s planning to spend the year working on his skills, and improving his overall game.
“I’m just thankful for the opportunity to be part of the Missouri family,” said Bello
