Trinity (TX) Euless high school has been a pipeline of D1 talent for colleges over the past few years, including the Missouri Tigers with the signing of TE Jason Reese in their 2013 recruiting class, and have returned in 2014 with another target on their list.
ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with DT Hafoka Olie 6'0" 280 DT 4.9 forty, 4.1 shuttle, and 26" vertical jump, about his recruitment and interest level in the Tigers since their offer to him.
"They offered me in January," said Olie. "Coach Steckel he'd be happy to get me up there and check out campus and come play for the Tigers. He said my explosiveness and they like my quickness."
Olie shared his thoughts on the offer and Missouri program.
"I would say they are my favorite. I like what I hear about them and what I know. I like how they develop defensive linemen and send them to the NFL, and Jason Reese keeps on me about how nice it is up there and that I need to come up there. I know my parents want me to commit to Missouri. We are from San Francisco and their favorite team in the 49ers, and they know about and love the Smith Brothers, Aldon and Justin, who play there on the defensive line. They want me to go there like they did. I am planning on taking an unofficial visit up there this summer. I want to see campus first before I make a decision, but I could commit once I see things up there for myself," said Olie.
"LSU wants me as a fullback to block on offense. I am not really interested in that. I would say Boise State is close to offering me along with probably Utah State,"he said.
Hafoka, who recorded 25 tackles, including 7 for loss and 2 sacks as a junior, has a few things he will be looking for from a visit to Mizzou.
"I really don't have a big list of things I want. I just want a nice place to be where the coaches and players are like family and get along. A nice play to live and go to school, and of course, good academics."
