This past week, Missouri extended a scholarship offer to 2014 DT prospect D.J. Williams 6’4” 293 Lufkin (TX). This weekend, Williams took time to speak with ShowMeMizzou.com, and he talked about his Missouri offer, and he updated us on his recruitment.
“Missouri offered me,” said Williams. “I like Missouri a lot! It’s another great opportunity for me.”
Williams reports a personal best of 4.93 in the forty-yard dash, to go along with 12 reps in the bench press at 225 pounds.
Missouri Assistant Coach Craig Kuligowski stopped by Lufkin on Thursday to take a look at Williams. Missouri was quick to follow with an offer.
“It feels great to have a Missouri offer,” explained Williams. “I’m interested in Missouri. They have a lot of players that are about to graduate, and that’s a good opportunity to become a starter.”
I asked Williams if he has begun to narrow things down?
“I really haven’t given it a lot of thought,” explained Williams, who said that “everybody’s pretty much equal”.
Our conversation turned to his criteria for choosing a school.
“I’d go out of state,” said Williams. “But, I’m going to have to start thinking about my college major………………………………………. I’ve thought about trying to become a coach.”
Williams doesn’t have any current visit plans, although he said that he’d like to visit Missouri, possibly this summer. He’s currently just trying to learn more about Missouri.
