Monday Night Missouri Offer Leaves LB Excited

On Monday evening, a rising class of 2014 Linebacker prospect received word that he has been extended an offer by the Missouri Tigers football program. spoke with him about it and has the latest on his recruitment

On Monday evening, 2014 LB prospect Gelen Robinson  6’2”  230  St. John (IN) Lake Central received word that the Missouri Tigers were offering him a scholarship.   Shortly thereafter, an excited Robinson spoke with to share his good news.  

“Coach Ford let me know that they have an offer for me,”   said Robinson.   “I think the Missouri offer is great!” 

Robinson reports offers from Ball State, Bowling Green, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Ohio, Purdue, and Vanderbilt, in addition to Missouri.

He reported a personal best of 4.6 in the forty-yard dash, and a 35” vertical jump.   He also reported a personal best of 4.3 seconds in the 5-10-5 shuttle, and a maximum in the bench press of 340 pounds.

Robinson talked about his interest in Missouri.

“Missouri is definitely a big program,”   explained Robinson.   “I’m definitely going to give them a lot of interest…………………………………  I’m definitely going to try to get to Missouri this summer for a visit.”

Robinson said he’s been to some of the schools that are located closest to him, but he hasn’t taken any visits this year.    He also said that it’s still early in his recruitment, and that he doesn’t currently have a list of favorites.  

“Everyone’s pretty much equal, right now,”   said Robinson, who indicated that he’d like to make a decision this summer.
