The Missouri Tigers have extended a scholarship offer to 2014 OT prospect Jake Stickler 6’6” 274 Bradenton (FL) Manatee. Recently, Stickler spoke with ShowMeMizzou.com, and he talked about his Missouri offer, and he updated us on the current status of his recruitment.
“I thought the Missouri offer was awesome! It’s an SEC school,” said Stickler. “They’re definitely on my radar. When I talked to Coach (Brian) Jones, and he told me they were offering, I was ecstatic!”
Stickler reported a personal best of 5.31 seconds in the forty-yard dash, to go along with a 26” vertical jump, and a maximum in the bench press of 280 pounds. He said that he also wrestled his first two years of high school, but has since focused only on playing football.
Stickler is planning to take some unofficial visits this summer. He said that he’d like to visit Missouri later this summer. It’s early in his recruitment.
“I’d like to keep my options open,” explained Stickler, who said that he wants to make a decision near the end of the season.
I asked Stickler if he has any current favorites?
“I’m leaning a lot towards Mizzou, right now,” Stickler replied. “Just from what I’ve read, and I like the SEC. It’s big-time ball. And, I like the coaches that I’ve met and talked to. So right now, I’d say that Missouri is at the top of my list.”
He acknowledged that the next step for him is to see Missouri for himself.
“I’d really just like to get up to Missouri,” said Stickler. “And, see the school and the campus for myself.”
