Missouri Looking At Texas Linebacker

The Missouri Tigers do not have a great need for a large number of linebackers in their 2014 class. They appear to be taking their time and searching for just the right players to offer and bring in at that position. ShowMeMizzou.com introduces you to one on their radar.

Recently, ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with 2014 LB prospect Tay Evans 6’3” 206 Allen (TX), who’s been receiving recruiting interest from Missouri. Evans talked about his recruitment, and his interest in Missouri.

“Missouri’s recruiting me,” said Evans. “They’re looking at me.”

Evans is a multi-sport athlete who plays basketball, and has been timed at 4.58 seconds in the forty-yard dash.

Evans is receiving recruiting interest from a number of schools, including Baylor, Northwestern, and Oklahoma, in addition to Missouri. He reports offers from Arizona State, Boise State, Kansas State, Nevada, Oregon State, Rice, San Diego State, SMU, Stanford, and Wake Forest.

Oklahoma, Kansas State, and Stanford appear to be schools in whom Evans is very interested.

“I wanted to make my decision before my senior year,” explained Evans, when I asked him about a timetable for a decision. “But, I don’t want to make a decision until I can visit campuses. We’re not able to visit a whole bunch of schools, so I’m going to have to wait until the fall, and take official visits.”

A Missouri offer could change the picture somewhat for Evans, who does not currently have an SEC offer. He said that if Missouri offered, the Tigers would get one of his official visits.
