Farmer Shares Thoughts On Mizzou After Camp

Missouri offer Tanner Farmer camped with the Missouri Tigers the past two days and spoke with ShowMeMizzou.com following it to share his thoughts on the experience, and updated us on his recruitment, and who his top 3 schools are at the moment.

Highland (IL) 2014 OG Tanner Farmer 6'4' 306 was impressed with the visit his family took to Columbia a couple of weeks ago. He returned yesterday for an unofficial visit and to camp with the Tigers and came away even more so after getting a chance to see the school, facilities, and especially interacting with the Missouri coaches.

"It was a great experience," said Farmer on his way home from camping at Mizzou." I would say it was a 10. I arrived yesterday and took a tour of the campus and spoke with the head of the medical department, I want to be a doctor, and that was great. Then I saw the facilities  and everything and they were great. Then last night I did camp with the linemen and we did drills and 11 on 11. I thought I did well. Then this morning we did more drills and 11 on 11 and 1 on 1's. We did the board drill and I won that, which was great. I had a lot of fun. The coaches were great and especially the O-line coaches, Coach Walker and Coach Henson. They are both great guys and really nice, but I also like how they coached me and how I responded to their coaching, which is very important."

In my last interview with Tanner, he said that he was camping with Mizzou to see how he got along with and interacted with the coaching staff and how important that was. So, I asked him following camp what his overall impression of Missouri was and where they stood with him in his recruitment?

"I gotta say that Mizzou is definitely up there at the top after camp. It's a great school, football program and town. It's just the right distance to where I am away from Mom and Dad but can go home on weekends and still see them regularly. I actually have a grading sheet of all the important things I am looking for in picking a college. Right now a top 3 on my sheet would be Missouri, Western Michigan and I am leaning towards Nebraska being the third school. Of course, I haven't been to all the schools on my list and will be taking a few more camp visits this month before deciding at the end of June or early July."

Tanner listed out his schedule for the rest of the month as far as his camp schedule goes.

"I head to Nebraska next Monday and Tuesday, and then Minnesota June 18th and 19th. After that I will be attending linemen Showcases at Michigan State and Northwestern,"he said.

Farmer, who holds offers currently from Missouri, Nebraska, Minnesota, Illinois, Northern Illinois and Western Michigan, is a very mature articulate young man with a great plan of finding the right school for himself.

I asked him how he came up with his plan he is currently using to find where he will attend college?

"My Dad played D1 ball at Mississippi and has been through this process. He says he did it the wrong way, so he wanted me to do it the right way. He has been great and has helped me and been with me every step of the way in this," said Tanner.

It won't be long before his hard work and help from his Dad has him knowing where he will be playing football at in 2014.
