ShowMeMizzou.com reported following the Missouri Tigers one day football camp on Sunday about three potential prospects who would be most likely to receive offers from the Tigers due to their performance on the day.
One of them was 2014 Blue Springs (MO) Safety Kaleb Prewett 6'2" 200, who showed off his speed, athleticism and defensive back skills in drills throughout the day.
The Tigers coaches saw the same things and extended an offer to Prewett today.
"They offered me today," said Prewett following a long day of football practice. " I was talking to Coach Hill and he said that they were planning on offering me, and then Coach Pinkel got on the phone and offered me himself, which was pretty amazing because he is the big guy for Missouri football."
Prewett was a little surprised still, even after his standout performance on Sunday.
"I like to think that after the camp that I would have gotten an offer, but, yeah, it's still surprising and a great one," he said.
So where does the Mizzou offer sit with Prewett?
"It definitely goes to the top of the list. That goes without saying, It's close to home and it's SEC. I just need to see if it's the right fit for me."
As far as the possibility of making a commitment in the near future, Tiger fans will have to wait it out.
"I am going to wait it out and make a careful decision. I want to make sure I don't commit too early or have to have second thoughts. I will see what else comes my way in the meantime. I know that a Missouri offer will likely speed up the process with other schools who are looking at me," said Prewett.
" I am going to K-State's camp sometime in July. They have shown a lot of interest. We'll see what happens."
ShowMeMizzou.com will keep you updated on Kaleb Prewett's recruitment.
