The Missouri Tigers seem to have found a pipeline down in the Florida panhandle that will continue to flow up to the Show-Me state at Pensacola (FL) West Tech high school.
ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with West Tech 2014 slot receiver prospect Lawrence Lee following his de-commitment from Tennessee over the weekend to get the latest on his recruitment and where the Tigers may fit in it.
"I would have to say that Missouri is on top of my list of schools right now of who I am looking at, "said Lee. It's an ideal situation with my good friends Nate Crawford, Luke Jackson and Rocel McWilliams all going there. Plus, their offense, and they have some seniors graduating at the slot."
Lee, whose first offer came from Missouri, said his second visit to Tennessee led him to believe that it wasn't a good fit for him, has already reached out to the Tigers about his interest, and has plans to see Mizzou in the not too far off future.
"I talked to coach Henson on Monday and he said they want me. I tried to reach wide receivers coach Washington, but he was busy, so I am probably going to talk to him today if possible. Me and Rochel are planning to take our official visit up there together, but we are also planning to make a visit up there this summer sometime before the official," said Lee.
The thought of being able to play with his friends and teammates really appeals to Lee.
"Nate (Crawford) just got up there and he has been telling me all about it and how great it is. Nate and I are close and we talk a couple times a week on the phone. Rochel has been talking up Missouri to me as well and we talking about rooming together at Mizzou in the future if we go up there. We joke about it being West Tech North at Missouri,"laughed Lee.
Lawrence spoke about those schools, and what he will be looking at closely to decide where he will ultimately choose.
"I have offers from South Florida and FIU right now, and Auburn wants me to camp with them. Really, I an just looking for a place where it will be a good fit with the offense, getting the ball to the slot position, and then academics. I want to major in business. My friend Nate is majoring in business and is giving me a good idea about what it's like at Missouri. I will know after visiting what is right for me."
Lawrence Lee cuaght 51 passes for over 1,000 yards as a junior in 2012.
