Recently, ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with 2014 safety prospect Josh Keys 6’2” 190 Perkinston (MS) Gulf Coast Community College, who reports a growing list of scholarship offers, including one from Missouri.
Keys said that Missouri Assistant Coach Craig Kuligowski stopped by Gulf Coast in early May, then spoke to his coach.
“Missouri was my third offer,” said Keys, whose offer list has grown prodigiously over the past month and a half. “My Missouri offer was good! Because they’re one of the schools I want to go to.”
Keys offer list includes Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Cincinnati, Georgia, Kansas, Kansas State, Kentucky, Louisiana-Lafayette, Memphis, Mississippi State, North Texas, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Southern Miss, TCU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Western Kentucky, and West Virginia, in addition to Missouri.
As a freshman at Gulf Coast, Keys played almost exclusively at the corner, where he was very productive, with 41 tackles, 4 TFLs, 1 INT, and 5 PBUs. This spring, he moved back to safety. He loves to hit, and he can cover like a corner.
Keys reports a 4.45-second forty-yard dash, to go along with 5 reps at 225 pounds in the bench press.
Keys is on pace to graduate in December, and he will have three years to play two following the 2013 season.
He plans to make a decision this fall. He intends to narrow things down this fall, and take official visits during or after the season. He said that he already knows that he will visit Arkansas and Oklahoma State. He said that he might visit Missouri.
“I don’t know just yet,” said Keys. “I’m weighing my options.”
He hopes to have a narrowed list later this summer.
