Talented RB Prospect Talks Missouri Plans

ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with one of the top uncommitted running backs in the South to get the very latest on his recruitment, including where Missouri fits into his plans, and his thoughts on a possible upcoming visit.

Recently, ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with 2014 RB prospect Darrel Williams  6’0”  210  Marrero (LA) Ehret, who holds a number of offers, including one from Missouri, and who is going to try to visit Missouri in the near future.

“I want to take a visit to Missouri, and see how everything is,”   explained Williams, who said that Missouri offered him a scholarship this spring.   “I might be visiting Missouri this month.”

Williams said that he’s been speaking with Missouri Assistant Coach, Pat Washington.   He said that Coach Washington is looking forward to getting him on campus at Missouri.

Williams holds offers from Arizona State, Florida, Georgia, Houston, Indiana, Kansas State, Louisiana, Louisiana Tech, Memphis, Nebraska, Southern Miss, Utah, and Vanderbilt, in addition to Missouri.

Williams is planning to camp with LSU next week, and he’s hopeful of earning an offer from the Bayou Bengals.   Beyond LSU, however, Williams said that at present he’s wide open, although he did mention Arizona State as a school he wants to visit, in addition to Missouri.  He’s already visited Florida and Georgia, and he doesn’t appear to be ready to make an early decision unless LSU comes through with that offer.

Williams reports personal bests of 4.5-seconds in the forty-yard dash, a 30” vertical jump, and a 4.0-second 5-10-5 shuttle, to go along with maximums in the bench press of 350 pounds and 540 pounds in the squat.

Williams is a do-everything back in Ehret’s spread offense, and he also handles kick returns.
