Recently, ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with 2014 WR prospect Keyan Williams 5’10” 170 New Orleans (LA) Lusher Charter, who holds a Missouri offer, and who has been building a relationship with Missouri Assistant Coach Pat Washington.
Williams plays QB in high school, but he is being recruited as a slot receiver at the next level. He indicated that he’s interested in Missouri and that the Tigers are one of his top schools.
“Yeah, I’d say that Missouri is up there,” replied Williams. “I like Missouri. They are recruiting me pretty hard. I feel like I’d do pretty (well) in that offense.”
Williams holds offers from Arizona, Boise State, California, Colorado State, Houston, Indiana, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana-Monroe, Memphis, San Diego State, Southern Miss, Texas A&M, Tulane, Utah, and Washington State, in addition to Missouri. He said that he thinks Vanderbilt is close to offering.
When I asked Williams to identify his top schools, he named Arizona, Colorado State, Missouri, and Southern Miss. He’s already visited Arizona and Southern Miss.
Williams is a multi-sport athlete who also plays basketball. He reported a personal best of 4.49 seconds in the forty-yard dash, and a 4.0-second 5-10-5 shuttle, to go along with completing 6 reps at 225 pounds in the bench press.
Williams wants to visit Missouri soon, but he said that he may have to wait until he can take an official visit.
“Maybe during the season because I want to go to a game to see how that is,” explained Williams. “If I can’t go to a game, then I’ll wait until after the season.”
Williams indicated that he’s not planning on making a decision until after the season.
