ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with 2014 junior college WR prospect Jarvis Bentley 6’5” 200 Fulton (MS) Itawamba Community College, who recently received a Missouri offer. Bentley talked about the Missouri offer, and he updated us on his recruitment.

“It feels great to have an offer from Missouri,” said Bentley. “When an SEC school offers you, I feel like that’s a rare accomplishment. I feel like it’s a lifetime achievement. You know, some guys don’t get the opportunity to even get an offer from an SEC school.”

Bentley holds offers from Georgia State, Kentucky, North Texas, South Alabama, Southern Miss, Troy, and Western Kentucky, in addition to Missouri. He’s hearing from some other SEC schools, and he expects to receive more offers during the season.

Last season, Bentley had 37 receptions for 297 yards and 1 TD. He is on pace to graduate in December, and he will have two years to play two following the 2013 season. He reports a personal best of 4.55 seconds in the forty-yard dash, to go along with a 37” vertical jump, and 8 reps at 225 pounds in the bench press.

Bentley said that Missouri is “definitely” a possible destination school for him. He acknowledged that he’s familiar with current Missouri receiver Dorial Green-Beckham.

“I’ve seen DGB,” explained Bentley. “I’ve seen him play. He reminds me of me. Same size. Same height. With me and him on the outside, that’s unstoppable!”

Bentley will take visits and make a decision following the season.
