Lee Makes The Call For Missouri

The Missouri Tigers picked up another verbal commitment for their football recruiting class of 2014 from speedy play making receiver Lawrence Lee just a little while ago. He tells ShowMeMizzou.com the details.

The Missouri Tigers added their 15th known commitment just a few minutes ago when Pensacola (FL) West Tech receiver Lawrence Lee 5'11" 175 committed to Missouri head coach Gary Pinkel.

"I have known for about a week now that I wanted to commit to Missouri," said Lee. 'I had been talking with coach Pat Washington a lot, and I realized that Missouri was the best situation for me. It was the best chance at everything I wanted for football and school. So, I called Coach Pinkel as he was getting off a flight, and we had a conversation about everything. He wanted to know how things were going in my life and outside of football, and he talked about what he was doing, so then I told him I wanted to commit to Mizzou, and he told me that I just made the best decision of my life and he was very happy. He said that I am family now and talked about me graduating from Missouri and the academic and football side of things."

Lee had previously been committed to Tennessee, and was being recruited by Auburn before choosing Missouri. He spoke about what was behind his decision.

"Missouri plays the spread offense that I am use to, and they have great coaches and players. I am really impressed with their academics, plus, I have friends up there like Nate Crawford, Luke Jackson, and Rocel McWilliams is going up there from my class. I know about the school. I was hoping to take an unofficial visit there this month before committing, but it didn't look like that would happen, and I didn't see the need to wait anymore."

Lee did talk about when he would come up for his official visit.

"I was suppose to make my official visit on September 14th, but Paul Adams and I talk, and wanted me to visit on October 26th with him and some other recruits. I will have to figure out what I am going to do since the 14th is a bye week for my team. I am just happy to be a Missouri Tiger now."

Lee has been timed at 4.45 in the forty, with a 38" vertical and 4.09 shuttle time. He is wrapping up summer conditioning this week and begins pre-season camp a week from Monday.
