Missouri Has Always Been Bailey's Goal

The Missouri Tigers added their 16th known verbal commitment for their 2014 class, with the commitment of Lamar (MO) offensive line prospect Sam Bailey, who committed to head coach Gary Pinkel last night.

Lamar (MO)OL prospect Sam Bailey 6'5" 255 made a verbal commitment to the University of Missouri last night as reported by local TV down in the Southwest part of the state. ShowMeMizzou, com spoke with Bailey about his decision to become a Tiger this morning.

"I knew for a while that I wanted to play at Missouri. That has always been my goal since before the summer of my junior year, to go to camp with them and earn an offer to play at Missouri," said Bailey."So, I knew on Monday night and talked to Coach Henson and told him that I wanted to commit to the Tigers. And then I talked to Coach Pinkel last night and told him. Both he and Coach Henson were happy that I committed, and welcomed me to the family and all that."

Sam told me that while a definitely position had not be decided upon, that he would play somewhere along the offensive line.

"We really haven't talked outside of me probably playing offensive tackle, but that I would be an offensive linemen at some position. I can also long snap pretty well, and while I play TE and DE here heading into my senior year, I know that won't be where I play in college," said Bailey.

Sam Bailey picked Mizzou over Memphis, Army,Missouri State and some other schools.

I asked him about the situation with his twin brother Ben, who had hoped to get a Missouri offer so that the two could continue to play together?

"I'm still hoping that Ben will get an offer. He is a good a player as I am, I am just a little bigger. Our Mom is kinda having a problem with us splitting up, but who knows, he could always come play at Missouri, or things could change."
