JUCO Safety Planning Fall Missouri Visit

Missouri Junior College mid-year safety prospect gives ShowMeMizzou.com an update on his recruitment, including where things stand with the Tigers, and what his plans are regarding a visit to Columbia in the fall.

After a freshman season during which he recorded 41 tackles, 4 TFLs, 1 INT, and 5 PBUs, while playing almost exclusively at corner, 2014 junior college safety prospect Josh Keys 6’2” 190 Perkinston (MS) Gulf Coast Community College moved back to playing safety this spring.

Keys is a safety prospect who loves to hit and who can cover like a corner. He can run, too, with a 4.45-second time in the forty-yard dash.

On pace to graduate in December, Keys offer list includes Arkansas, Auburn, Cincinnati, Georgia, Kansas, Kansas State, Kentucky, Louisiana-Lafayette, Memphis, Mississippi State, North Texas, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Southern Mississippi, TCU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Western Kentucky, and West Virginia, among others, in addition to Missouri.

Keys is planning to visit Missouri this fall.

“I plan on taking a visit (to Missouri) during the season,” explained Keys, who went on to say that he has yet to establish a date for that visit.

Keys indicated that he’s planning to narrow things down later this month to a list of the five schools that will receive his official visits.

“I plan on narrowing my choices down at the end of this month,” explained Keys, who will have three years to play two following the 2013 season. “By the beginning of August, I’m going to narrow it down to the five schools that I’m going to visit.”

Keys indicated that he’ll have to discuss the narrowing of his list with his family, but that he wants to include Missouri on that list.

He’s planning to make a decision following the season.
