Missouri Standing Out To Big Receiver

The Missouri Tigers have targeted the wide receiver position and seemingly have place a lot of importance on it for their 2014 football recruiting class. ShowMeMizzou.com has the latest on a big receiver they have targeted.

Recently, ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with Missouri offer and 2014 WR prospect Jarvis Bentley 6’5” 200 Fulton (MS) Itawamba Community College, who said that the Tigers are still recruiting him hard. Bentley updated us on where his recruitment stands, and on his interest in Missouri.

“Everything is going good with Missouri,” said Bentley. “They’ve been keeping me updated.”

At present, Bentley is focused on his second season at Itawamba, which gets underway in a little over a week. Last season, Bentley had 37 receptions for 297 yards and 1 TD. He reports a personal best of 4.55 seconds in the forty-yard dash, to go along with a 37” vertical jump, and 8 reps at 225 pounds in the bench press. He will graduate in December, and he will have two years to play two following the 2013 season.

Bentley currently holds offers from Georgia State, Kentucky, Middle Tennessee State, North Texas, South Alabama, Southern Miss, Troy, and Western Kentucky, in addition to Missouri. He’s hearing from some other SEC schools, and he hopes to receive more offers during the season.

“Missouri’s a great school,” explained Bentley. “You know, I like (Missouri) a lot.”

Bentley said that Missouri and Kentucky are standing out to him.

“Of course, those two are standing out," explained Bentley, speaking of the two SEC schools that have offered him. "Of course.”

Bentley is not sure when he’ll visit Missouri. It looks like it could be toward the end of the season, or after the season.

Right now, he’s just focused on having his best season on the field.
