Recently, ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with 2014 TB prospect Trevon Walters 5’11” 192 Bradenton (FL) Manatee, who is verbally committed to Missouri, and who updated us on the current status of his recruitment.
Since he gave Missouri his verbal commitment, Walters took an official visit to Minnesota, which he said that he enjoyed. The Minnesota visit allowed him an opportunity to see a childhood friend who plays for the Gophers that he hasn’t seen in "about eight years".
Walters confirmed that he is solidly committed to Missouri. He said that he’s finished with visits, except for his official visit to Missouri, which he’s trying to arrange for later this month, or after the season.
Walters said that Missouri assistant coach Brian Jones came to see him during Missouri’s bye week. He said that he’s been speaking to Coach Jones nearly every week.
Walters’ Manatee team is 5-0 heading into October. Walters missed one game with an injury to his finger. In four games, he has rushed for 518 yards and 4 TDs on 67 carries (7.73 yards/carry). He also has 6 receptions for 88 yards and 1 TD.
Walters said that he’s seen Missouri play on television. He thinks he’s a good fit at Missouri.
“I’d like to see them run the ball a little more,” said Walters.
