Missouri Makes Defender's Top 3

The Missouri Tigers have made some serious recruiting inroads this year in the Southeast. ShowMeMizzou.com has the latest on one of their defensive targets for the 2014 class, who has them high on his list of final schools.

In June, several members of the North Gwinnett football team made the trip from north central Georgia to attend a football camp at Missouri. Last month, North Gwinnett’s Nate Brown gave the Tigers a verbal commitment. Since then, he’s been talking to his friend and teammate, 2014 DE prospect Dante Sawyer 6’3” 257 Suwanee (GA) North Gwinnett about joining him at Mizzou. This week, ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with Sawyer, who holds a Missouri offer, and he talked about his interest in the Tigers.

Sawyer is a highly recruited playmaker with offers from a host of schools including Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio State, South Carolina, Tennessee, and USC, among many others, in addition to Missouri.

He named Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee, and Missouri as his top schools.

“I love Missouri,” said Sawyer. “I can really picture myself going there.”

Sawyer is planning to visit Missouri, probably after the season. North Gwinnett is expecting to make a deep run in the state playoffs.

Sawyer said that he's been times at 4.67 seconds in the 40-yard dash. And, he’s been invited to play is the U.S. Army All-America game following this season.
