Liberty QB Cambric On Tigers Radar

With the Missouri Tigers 2014 football recruiting class getting close to being completed, they are turning their attention to the 2015 class. We tell you about one of the top QB prospects in the state and region and his early recruitment.

Having completed his junior season and finishing with just under 1700 yards passing A.J. Cambric says his focus shifts to basketball.

Days after the Liberty football season ended Cambric laced up his basketball shoes in a bid to make the Blue Jays basketball team.

"I've been playing basketball as long as I've played football and I won't stop until one of my coaches makes me. I'm going to use it to stay in shape over the winter."

When asked about recruiting he says Missouri and Kansas State stay in touch regularly with Mizzou sending mail weekly. "I liked my visit to Mizzou. I got to meet Coach Hill again. We'd met over the summer but everything was pretty busy so it was nice to meet him again."

While Cambric has clearly landed on several coaching staffs radars listing mail from SIU, Ball State, K-State, Mizzou and Notre Dame, it's also clear his recruitment is just starting to thaw out. "Everything has been happening through the mail. I want to talk to coaches about what they want from their quarterbacks. I like setting goals so I'd like to hear what they want me to bring to the table."

In the new world of early offers Cambric doesn't appear discouraged to find himself without an offer. "This was my first year out there. I'm not finished. Actually I'm just getting started." he says with a smile.
