Wingo Picks Missouri Following Visit

The Missouri Tigers added to their 2014 football recruiting class when St. Louis speedy cornerback Raymond Wingo decided to pull the trigger on his college choice bu picking the Tigers following a weekend visit.

The Missouri Tigers added their 26th known football commitment for their 2014 recruiting class with some more in-state talent as St. Louis (MO) University cornerback ,Raymond Wingo 5'11"174 4.35 forty, pledged his verbal commitment to Mizzou.

Wingo informed that he was committing to Missouri earlier, but he had not yet informed the Tiger coaches because they were holding practice to prepare for their upcoming Cotton Bowl appearance on January 3rd. We have since learned that he has been able to let the Missouri staff know that he had made his decision to become a Missouri Tiger.

Raymond's high school coach, Gary Kornfeld, helped shed some light on his decision to pick Mizzou.

"(Wingo) Loved his visit this past weekend…..loved the coaches….school.He is canceling all his other visits." said Kornfeld.

Coach Kornfeld shared his thoughts on Wingo's talents, and what the Tigers will be getting.

"Raymond is a special player with an abundance of speed….he makes things happen. He is the quickest player I have ever had…….in 37 years."

Wingo chose Missouri over Auburn, Oklahoma, Michigan State, Arkansas and others.

Raymond had over 700 total yards offense while playing QB,running back and receiver and scored 9 TDs, despite missing time with an ankle injury. He also recorded 24 tackles and 2 interceptions at his cornerback position on defense.

Another area where Wingo excels is as a kick returner, where he averaged 24 yards per return on kick offs, and 31 yards per return on punts.
