2015 OT Talks Missouri Offer

The Missouri Tigers extended an offer to one of the top rising offensive line prospects in the 2015 class this weekend. ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with him and got his reaction and thoughts about the offer and Mizzou.

On Saturday, 2015 OT prospect Gabe Megginson 6’5” 280 Jacksonville (IL) took an unofficial visit to Missouri and enjoyed the Missouri-Alabama basketball game. It was his first time visiting Missouri, and he came away impressed, and with an offer from the Tigers.

“We did the tour, and when we got back to the football offices, they said that they liked my film, and they offered,” said Megginson, speaking of receiving his Missouri offer. “I have been talking to Coach Henson for a while, and after realizing how close (Missouri) is, I just wanted to see what everybody has been talking about, how cool it is.”

Megginson said that Coach Henson and he have been speaking regularly for a few months.

Megginson reported currently holding offers from Akron, Illinois, Illinois State, Indiana, Nebraska, Northern Illinois, Toledo, and Wisconsin, in addition to Missouri.

“I really liked Mizzou! It was awesome!” said Megginson. “I really like how easy the Missouri coaches are to get along with, how intense they are, and their success. I really like their facilities. Those are awesome! And I went to the basketball game. They have a great fan base…………………………………………. I really do like Missouri.”

Megginson said that he plans a return trip to Missouri this spring.

“I might come back as early as Junior Day,” said Megginson, speaking of a potential return trip to Missouri. “Or probably, definitely get out to a spring practice to see how they all coach.”

Megginson reports a personal best of 5.3 seconds in the 40-yard dash, a 4.8-second 5-10-5 shuttle, 21” vertical, 16 reps at 225 pounds in the bench press, a 275-pound power clean, and a 425-pound squat.

He’d like to make a decision prior to his senior season, but he’s not close to making a decision at this time.
