On Wednesday, Missouri offered 2014 safety prospect Christian Campbell 6’2” 185 Phoenix City (AL) Central, who spoke with ShowMeMizzou.com about the Missouri offer, and his visit plans, and he updated us on his recruitment.
Campbell reports offers from Appalachian State, Arkansas State, Boise State, Colorado State, Georgia Southern, Minnesota, Southern Miss, Jacksonville State, Memphis, Northern Illinois, South Alabama, UAB, and Western Kentucky, in addition to Missouri. Arkansas has shown interest, but has not yet offered.
Since he visited Southern Miss last weekend, he’s received offers from Boise State, Minnesota, and Missouri. He’s going to visit Missouri this weekend (1-24-14), then Minnesota on January 31st.
“Most likely those are the only two schools I’ll visit,” said Campbell.
Campbell said that he’s been timed at 4.53 seconds in the 40-yard dash, and he’s posted a 37” vertical jump, to go along with a 4.1-second 5-10-5 shuttle.
Campbell appears to have a narrowed list that includes primarily Missouri and Minnesota, but also includes Arkansas, if they would offer, Southern Miss, Boise State, and Penn State, if they would offer.
“I like that Coach Grinch is a good coach,” explained Campbell, who went on to say that he doesn’t know a lot about the school. “I want to play in the SEC. But then again, Minnesota, that’s in the Big Ten. And, I had a close relationship with a coach, so it’s a hard decision.”
With less than two weeks remaining until Signing Day, Campbell is trying to examine his new options.
