Dilosa Discusses His Missouri Decision

When ShowMeMizzou.com reported earlier last week that Round Rock (TX) WR Keyon Dilosa would be visiting the University of Missouri this weekend, we had a pretty good idea that the chance of a commitment was there. Dilosa pulled the trigger, and we spoke to him following it to get his thoughts.

As reported on ShowMeMizzou.com’s Premium Message Board earlier Sunday morning, Missouri has picked up a verbal commitment from a mega-talented 2014 WR prospect in Keyon Dilosa 6’4” 195 Round Rock (TX).

ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with Dilosa shortly after he left Missouri following his official visit and commitment.

“I really excited about being committed to Missouri! I’m just ready to be a part of the family,” said Dilosa. “I’m just really excited to be a part of the tradition of winning!”

Dilosa’s father, Maurice Miller, was pleased with his son’s decision.

"I'm very excited about (Keyon) playing in the toughest conference in the land," said Mr. Miller, who has coached his son, as well many other young athletes. "He's an exceptional athlete! I don't just say that because he's my son………………………………….. He's worked really hard to get to this point."

Dilosa chose Missouri over offers from Arkansas State, BYU, Houston, Montana, and New Mexico.

"I'm going to cancel my visit to BYU," said Dilosa.

"Of course," said Mr. Miller. "Why would we waste their time? That doesn't make sense. I told Keyon (on Friday) when I took him to the airport, you solidify the deal (at Missouri), there no sense in going out west."

Dilosa met with Coach Pinkel on Sunday morning.

"He said, "Welcome to the family"," said Dilosa.

Dilosa said that the family atmosphere at Missouri was a major positive factor in his decision.

"The atmosphere's amazing! Everybody just gelled well together," explained Dilosa. "It's just like a big family. Nobody is really like individually. Sometimes, it's different. They have like egos and all of that. And, there's none of that at Missouri. Even from like Dorial to the walk-ons, they were all the same. I like that a lot!"

Earlier this week, ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with Dilosa's high school coach, Round Rock TX Head Coach Jeff Cheatham. Coach Cheatham said that Dilosa runs the 40-yard dash in the 4.4-4.5 second range. And, that Dilosa has posted a personal best of 39.3" in the vertical jump, and a 4.03-second 5-10-5 shuttle.

Dilosa talked about what stood out on his visit.

"Actually, you know, it was just the people. That was really it," said Dilosa, talking about his Missouri visit. "The people, they really sealed the deal for me. It was just a welcoming place. Everybody was. Everybody was really nice. That's what I liked the most."
