Cage Opens Up About His Missouri Visit

Following his final official visit which he took to Missouri, Ohio DT Daniel Cage spoke with, and he talked about his Missouri visit, and he updated us on the current status of his recruitment.

Among this weekend’s official visitors to Missouri was 2014 DT prospect Daniel Cage 6’3” 300 Cincinnati (OH) Winton Woods. Following his visit, Cage spoke with, and he talked about his Missouri visit, and he updated us on the current status of his recruitment.

“My Missouri visit went well,” said Cage, who was hosted on his visit by Markus Golden. “I really connected with the players.”

“I had a great time with the Missouri coaches,” said Cage. “They answered all of my questions. You know, I really enjoyed the coaches.”

Cage has received scholarship offers from Akron, Arkansas, Cincinnati, Florida, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Indiana, Kent State, Kentucky, Louisville, Miami (OH), Michigan State, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, Western Michigan, and West Virginia, among others.

Cage said that he’s going to review his notes and make a decision before Wednesday. He’ll announce his choice in a ceremony at his school on National Signing Day.

He named five schools that he has visited, and that he said are “equal” in his mind, including Illinois, Louisville, Michigan State, Missouri, and Notre Dame.

Cage said that he can see himself playing at Missouri.

“I can see myself signing with Missouri on Wednesday,” explained Cage, who went on to say that is also true of any of his top five schools. “No school’s ahead of the others.”

Cage reported a personal best at his current weight of 4.9 seconds in the 40-yard dash, to go along with a 28” vertical, a 4.6-second 5-10-5 shuttle, a bench press maximum of 425 pounds, and 25 reps at 225 pounds in the bench press.

Cage said that he had spoken with Missouri Defensive Line Coach Craig Kuligowski about the possibility of early playing time at Missouri.

“Coach Kul said that if I’m the player that he thinks I am, that I can come in and play immediately,” said Cage
