Moten Talks Missouri Jr. Day Offer

St. Louis area running back John Moten had spoke with prior to Missouri's junior day event on Saturday, and about the possibility of getting an offer. Following the event and with an offer in hand, he spoke about how it feels now.

Heading into his Missouri Tigers junior day visit, St. Louis (MO) John Burrough's RB John Moten  6'0" 190 told me that he was very excited to see what the SEC program had to offer, and was hopeful that an offer from the Tigers would be there for him in the future.

This future was now for Moten, as he received an offer from Missouri head coach Gary Pinkel today.

"The junior day was very good," said Moten. "I got the offer and it was exciting. We were hanging out at the basketball game they they pulled me and Coach Pinkel told my parent and I that they want me at Missouri."

Moten was impressed with Coach Pinkel, and with Missouri overall.

"He (Pinkel) seems really cool. They are all good people and I believe that everything they told us was sincere. The players were all very cool and everybody was very welcoming. Having this offer is definitely exciting."

John said that he is familiar with Missouri offense and that he could possibly see himself playing in it.

I asked him about the running back  recruiting situation at Missouri. The Tigers had picked up a commitment from Lee's Summit (Mo) West RB Ryan Williams earlier in the day.

"The coaches spoke about it. They said one or two was what they were hoping for in this class."

Competition at running back does not seem to be something that concerns Moten.

Missouri is Moten's third offer. He also has offers from Illinois and Northwestern.
