One of the top running back's, and overall prospect in the state of Kentucky for 2015, Michael Nero 5'11" 210 Louisville (KY) Manuel made the trip up for the Missouri Tigers junior day on February 15th.
Nero spoke with ShowMeMizzou.com following his junior day visit to fill us in on how it went, and what the latest was with his recruitment.
"I went and had a really good time," said Nero. "I got the chance to see the facilities, which were nice, and I enjoyed meeting the players and getting to know them. It was like a brotherhood, like a family. Everyone seemed really close. Everything was really nice."
"I also enjoyed meeting with all the coaches and talking with them. They said they liked my size and build. They liked my film and how I run with speed, power and quickness. I was told that the coaches would be meeting and they would get back with me."
Nero said that he has been hearing a lot from the Tigers, and that his coach told him the Tigers interest was strong.
"I have been getting a whole bunch of letters from Mizzou, and they have talked with my high school coach. He said they were intent on offering me. I wasn't sure if that meant at junior day or not, but we'll see what happens going forward. I Missouri and I would like the opportunity to play in the SEC. Hopefully, they offer," said Nero.
The talented back, who accounted for over 2,000 yards and 23 TDs rushing and receiving in Kentucky's largest classification, also has junior days planned at Louisville, Kentucky and Western Kentucky.
He doesn't have any favorites at this time.
"I am open to any school who is interested in me. I like the thought of playing in the SEC. I am a competitor and want to play against the best, but I am keeping an open mind with my recruitment," he said.
