Linebacker Talks Missouri, Spring Plans

The Missouri Tigers have developed some nice relationships and inroads into areas in the Southeast since joining the SEC. has the latest on a linebacker prospect who is familiar with the Tigers because of that who talks about his recruitment by Mizzou.

With a big assist from a pair of 2014 signees, the Missouri Tigers have gone back to a familiar location, and are showing interest in 2015 LB prospect Jay Hockaday 6'3" 210 Nashville (TN) Christ Presbyterian Academy.

"I talked to Coach Washington last week," said Hockaday, referring to the Missouri assistant. "He wants me to come to Missouri this spring for a visit."

Hockaday identified 2014 Missouri signees Paul Adams and Thomas Richard as friends. He visited Missouri last October along with his two teammates.

"I really like Missouri," said Hockaday. "I went to the South Carolina game. They lost. But, I still really like Missouri." He's planning to visit Missouri this spring, as well.

Hockaday reports currently holding offers from Furman and Mercer.

Hockaday reports a personal best of 4.6 seconds in the 40-yard dash, to go along with a 34" vertical, and 275 pounds in the bench press.

Hockaday is "hopeful" of receiving a Missouri offer. Camping with Missouri is an option, as well.
