Basketball Teammates Visit Missouri

The University of Missouri had a couple of class of 2015 teammates from the Sunshine State make the trip up to check out the Tigers this week on unofficial visits. has the details on how it went.

On Wednesday, a pair of high-level 2015 basketball prospects visited Missouri.

Afterwards, spoke with one of them, 2015 CG prospect Antonio Blakeney 6’4” 185 Orlando (FL) Oak Ridge, who confirmed that he and his teammate, 2015 PF prospect Alex Owens 6’8” 235 Orlando (FL) Oak Ridge, toured the Missouri campus and met with the Missouri coaches on their unofficial visit to Missouri.

Blakeney also confirmed that Missouri has offered both he and Owens.

Blakeney currently holds offers from Arkansas, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kansas, Kansas State, Louisville, Miami, North Carolina, Notre Dame, South Carolina, South Florida, UCF, USC, Vanderbilt, and Xavier, in addition to Missouri.

Blakeney talked about his Missouri visit, and he updated us on his recruitment.

“My Missouri visit was good,” said Blakeney, who reported that he and Owens arrived at Missouri on Wednesday morning and stayed to watch Missouri’s last-second come-from-behind 57-56 victory over Texas A&M on Senior Night. “When we got there, we just walked around campus, got to see the facilities, and met with the academic advisors. Then, we met with the coaches and also got to talk to some of their players.”

Blakeney had good things to say about the Tigers.

“Missouri has real good facilities,” began Blakeney. “I like the campus a lot. I like the coaching staff. The coaches are real cool. And I really like the academic advisors. They were very helpful.”

Blakeney said that he and Owens are both “wide open”, and that they have not begun to narrow things down.

“I could see myself playing at Missouri,” explained Blakeney. “I could see myself playing at any other school. I don’t have any favorites right now. I’m just still wide open.”

Blakeney said that he’s not really thinking about his recruitment right now. He said that he would get more involved in it “later this summer”.
