Linebacker Plans Missouri Spring Visit

The Missouri Tigers spring football practice is on spring break, but that doesn't mean that recruiting takes a break. ShowMeMizzou.com introduces you to a talented linebacker who is hearing from the Tigers and is planning a visit.

Linebacker looks like it is a position the Missouri Tigers will be looking to fill in their 2015 class with at least a couple of prospects.

One local prospect from just across the river in the St. Louis Metro East who is getting attention from the Tigers is Edwardsville (IL) all-everything linebacker prospect Zac Rujawitz 6'1"227.

Rujawitz spoke with ShowMeMizzou.com about his recruitment and specifically Mizzou.

"I have been talking with Coach Ford, who recruits the St. Louis area," said Rujawitz. "He checks in with me to see how things are going and tells me to keep working hard. He says they are impressed with how I run downhill, my speed and tackling ability. I like to hit. I was suppose to attend junior day, but that didn't work out, so they want me to come up for a spring practice to watch for a day."

I asked Zac what his thoughts were about the Tigers program?

‘Obviously, after last season that they had it's hard not to consider them. I like how they use their linebackers and I really like their academic standards. I am looking forward to finding out more about them. I plan to go up for a practice coming up or the spring game."

The two-time first team All-Metro, All-Conference and first team Class 7 Illinois All-State linebacker, who recorded 105 tackles as a junior, is also hearing from most of the Big 10 along with Iowa State, Kansas, Harvard and Cornell along with Mizzou, spoke about another school that is standing out to him.

"I really like Wisconsin. I am a real fan of Chris Borland who played there and pattern my game after him. Their coaches tell me a lot of the same things as Mizzou. They like the way I play and how I run through blocks and ballcarriers. I am hoping to make it up there again.

Rujawitz says he is just starting to focus on his recruitment and will be checking some more schools out this spring and summer.

Zac self reports a 4.7 forty time, 4.09 shuttle, and bench press max of 320lbs.
