Missouri In Running For Mitchell

Missouri basketball coach Kim Anderson has some unfinished business for the 2014 basketball recruiting class. ShowMeMizzou.com has the very latest on a 4-star prospect who has Mizzou very much in the running for his services.

Missouri is among the leaders for 2014 PG prospect Shelton Mitchell  6'3"  185  Waxhaw (NC) Oak Hill Academy, who has re-opened his recruitment after obtaining a release from the Letter of Intent he signed with Wake Forest last fall.   Mitchell spoke with ShowMeMizzou.com, and he talked about his visit plans and his recruitment.

"I'm visiting Missouri on May 18th, the day after my graduation,"     explained Mitchell.    "From there, I'm flying straight out to California, and then to Vanderbilt."

Mitchell said that he intends to take all three official visits before taking some time to decide on a school.     He does intend to enroll in the first summer session at his new school, so he intends to make a decision by the first week of June.

"Right now, all three schools are even,"   said Mitchell, who has already taken one official visit, that being to Wake Forest.    "I don't have a leader."

Mitchell said that he would be open to taking a fifth visit, but he currently does not have plans to do so.

He shared some of his thoughts about Missouri.

"I have a great relationship with Coach Fuller,"    explained Mitchell.    "He's been recruiting me for a long time………………………………….   They're in the SEC, a good conference.   And, from what I know, the coach (Kim Anderson) likes playing fast, and likes playing my style of basketball."

Mitchell is looking forward to the next few weeks, and the next chapter in his life.

"I'm excited to be graduating,"   said Mitchell, who said that he's interested in studying communications in college.     "And, I'm excited for the visits.   But, it's a lot to think about."
