Williamson picking up steam

Cornerback Adonis Williamson has seen a steady increase in activity in his recruitment. He talks about his future plans and summer visits.

Cornerback Adonis Williamson holds offers from Cincinnati, Indiana, Toledo and Western Michigan, and he's generated serious interest from Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio State, and Virginia Tech."

"This summer I'm camping at Cincinnati on June 6 and I'm visiting Virginia Tech sometime later in the summer," Williamson said. "Hopefully, Virginia Tech will offer."

Williamson maintains that he's open at this point.

"I think I'll have favorites by the end of this month," Williamson said. "I want to play my freshman year. I don't want to redshirt. I want to get a good degree, too."

In the meantime, Williamson is focused on upping his game to the next level.

"I want to get faster and stronger," the 6-foot-1, 180-pound cornerback said. "I want to stay in good shape too."

Williamson said he's being recruited to play cornerback by all schools, though Virginia Tech may utilize him at safety.

As a junior, Williamson had 47 tackles, seven interceptions, including three pick' 6's.
