Missouri has extended a scholarship offer to 2015 safety prospect Kenneth McGruder 6’2” 205 Houston (TX) Taylor. McGruder confirmed his Missouri offer to ShowMeMizzou.com, and he talked about his interest in Missouri, and he updated us on the current status of his recruitment.
McGruder said that Missouri assistant coach Craig Kuligowski came by his school to watch him practice. Then he spoke to Coach Kool, and he learned of the Missouri offer.
“I think the Missouri offer is great,” said the hard-hitting safety prospect. “I know that Missouri’s a great journalism school.”
McGruder pointed out that he’s thinking about journalism as a major in college. He went on to share some of what Coach Kool had to say to him.
“Coach Kool said that he loves my size for a safety,” said McGruder. “He said if I come to Missouri, and if I was to get bigger, that I might even move to weak-side linebacker.”
McGruder currently holds about twenty offers, including Arkansas, Boise State, California, Colorado, Iowa State, LSU, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Oregon State, Tulsa, Utah, and UTSA, among others in addition to Missouri. He’s also hearing from Florida, Ohio State, Texas, and Texas Tech.
McGruder reports a personal best of 4.50 seconds in the 40-yard dash.
McGruder said that he’s not quite ready to name a narrowed list of schools, but he did say that if he had a narrowed list, Missouri would be on it.
McGruder said that he’s already visited LSU and Texas. He’s planning to visit Missouri this summer, probably in July. He’d like to make a decision prior to his senior season.
