Monday Offer From Mizzou Leads To Long Visit

The Missouri Tigers will get a quick return from their latest football offer they extended on Monday, as the good news for one prospect will lead to an unofficial visit this coming weekend.

On Monday, Missouri extended a scholarship offer to 2015 LB prospect David Long 6’0” 218 Cincinnati (OH) Winton Woods. Not long after, Long spoke with ShowMeMizzou.com, and he talked about the Missouri offer, his interest in Missouri, and he updated us on his recruitment.

“I talked to Coach Ford,” said Long. “He said that they went back over my film, and that they decided to offer me.”

Long currently holds offers from Akron, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Kent State, Kentucky, Louisville, Miami (OH), North Carolina State, Ohio, Toledo, and West Virginia, in addition to Missouri.

Long reported a personal best of 4.7 seconds in the 40-yard dash, to go along with a 32” vertical, a 4.32-second 5-10-5 shuttle, and a personal best of 295 pounds in the bench press. “Missouri is a good school, a great school,” said Long. “Coach Ford is a real cool coach. I just want to get down there and get familiar with everyone else.”

Long is a very physical linebacker prospect who plays the run aggressively. He said that he is going to try to visit Missouri this Saturday (5-24-14), along with his teammate, George Brown.

Long said that he’s planning to wait until after his senior season to make a decision. He talked about what he’s looking for in a school.

“My relationship with the coaches is important,” explained Long. “I’m going to be there for four years, so I want to have a good feeling about the people I’m going to be there with.”
