On Tuesday, Missouri extended a scholarship offer to 2015 CB prospect William Lockett 6’0” 185 Manvel (TX). Not long after, Lockett spoke with ShowMeMizzou.com, and he talked about the Missouri offer, his interest in Missouri, and the current status of his recruitment.
“I was pretty excited about the Missouri offer,” said Lockett. “I mean, it was my first SEC offer. I know that Missouri has put players in the NFL, so I’m really excited about that!”
Lockett currently holds offers from Houston, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana Tech, Maryland, Michigan State, Oregon State, Purdue, and Tulsa, in addition to Missouri. His recruitment has really picked up with a pair of SEC offers on Tuesday.
Lockett also runs track for Manvel. He has posted a personal best of 21.9 seconds in the 200 meters. He plays corner at Manvel and he reported a personal best of 4.53 seconds in the 40-yard dash to go along with a 36” vertical, a 4.31-second 5-10-5 shuttle, a personal best of 270 pounds in the bench press, and 375 pounds in the squat.
Lockett is planning to visit Missouri this summer, probably in June. He doesn’t have a narrowed list of schools, but he thinks highly of Mizzou.
“I already like Missouri,” said Lockett. “They’ve had a lot of success…………………………... I like the competition that they play against in the SEC……………………………. I know they put players in the league. I mean, I just like their swag.”
Lockett said that he has to take some visit over the summer. He would like to make a final decision prior to his senior season.
