Long's Take On His Missouri Trip

The second member of the Cincinnati (OH) Winton Woods duo to make the unofficial visit to Missouri this weekend, linebacker David Long, spoke with ShowMeMizzou.com following his trip, and he filled us in on his visit, along with where his recruitment is at right now.

Earlier this weekend, 2015 LB prospect David Long 6’0” 218 Cincinnati (OH) Winton Woods took an unofficial visit to Missouri. Afterwards, he took a few minutes to speak with ShowMeMizzou.com, and he talked about his Missouri visit, and he updated us on the current status of his recruitment.

“My Missouri visit was great,” said Long. “I went around campus, and I got to speak with the professor in my major, sports management. And I got to speak with my position coach and the head coach.”

“(Coach Pinkel) was real cool,” continued Long, who said that he plans to return to Missouri for another visit this fall. “I don’t have any favorites, but Missouri is up there. They’re definitely under consideration.”

Long currently holds offers from Akron, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Kent State, Kentucky, Louisville, Miami (OH), North Carolina State, Ohio, Toledo, and West Virginia, in addition to Missouri.

Long has reported personal bests of 4.7 seconds in the 40-yard dash, to go along with a 32” vertical, a 4.32-second 5-10-5 shuttle, and a personal best of 295 pounds in the bench press.

Long said that one of the highlights of his Missouri visit was the time he spent talking to Missouri Defensive Coordinator and Linebackers Coach, Dave Steckel. He said that Stec told him that he sees Long playing weak-side linebacker at Mizzou.

“(Stec) was real cool,” said Long. “He was telling me where he thinks I’ll play. And, he told me that he’s going to come to Cincinnati to see me.”

Long said that he plans to narrow things down before the season begins, and that he’d like to make a decision later this year.
