Fatony All In For Mizzou Football

On Wednesday evening, 2015 P/K prospect Corey Fatony 5’11” 190 Franklin (TN) learned of a Missouri offer and gave the Tigers a verbal commitment during the same phone call. Shortly afterwards, he spoke with ShowMeMizzou.com about becoming a Missouri Tiger.

“Missouri offered me a scholarship and I committed about an hour ago,” said Fatony, a combo punter/kicker who had camped at Missouri on June 10th. “They’re looking for me to punt for them.”

Heading into the 2014 season, senior Christian Brinser will handle the punting duties for Missouri, so the Tigers are looking to add a high-caliber punter to this recruiting class.

Missouri is Fatony’s only offer thus far, but he’s being recruited by several schools, including Arkansas, Stanford, Tennessee, and UCLA, among others.

“I like the fact that in the word student-athlete, Missouri puts the student before the athlete,” explained Fatony. “And, I really, really respect Missouri’s academics. Their APR is very high. And, I really appreciate that. They put academics first.”

Outstanding hang-time is a big part of Fatony’s punting arsenal. He’s been recognized as one of the top prep punters in the country, and he’s considered by some to be the top combo punter/kicker in the country. He’s cognizant of the fact that Missouri has rarely offered a high school punter.

“I’m ready to play in the SEC,” said Fatony.
