Recently, ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with Missouri offer and 2015 WR prospect Jaelen Austin 6’3” 200 Grand Prairie (TX) South. Austin updated us on his recruitment, including plans for some official visits.
“Right now, I’m trying to set up an official visit to Missouri,” said Austin. “I’m visiting Oregon (early in September), and I’m going to try to take an official visit to Missouri after that.”
Austin currently holds offers from Arkansas, Baylor, Boise State, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kansas State, Louisiana Tech, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, Ole Miss, San Diego State, TCU, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and Tulsa, in addition to Missouri.
He named a narrowed list of schools, including Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Oregon, and Texas Tech. He's scheduled official visits to Oregon (9-06) and Texas Tech (9-13). He also wants to take official visits to Missouri, Nebraska, and either Illinois or Ole Miss.
Austin has been talking to Missouri assistant coach Pat Washington. He said that he’s pretty high on Missouri.
“Missouri’s a school that I’ve always watched on TV,” explained the speedy wide out. “I know Russell Hansbrough. I used to train with him.”
